The Macro Project

I've been waiting for "macro week" for quite a while.  Anytime I go out shooting, I always end up taking a few macro shots.  I love the intimate feeling macro photos give me and I especially enjoy getting extra close to my subject.

Today, I shot at Foote Park in Branford.  There are a few shots from around my house (my dog and my afternoon snack), but most are from the park.  I only used my kit lens for this assignment.

All of that said, I was mildly disappointed with this weeks pictures.  A few came out nicely, but overall I think I could have done better.  In many cases, I was able to focus on some of the subject, but not the entire subject.  Backing up a bit took away from that macro feel.  I looked up techniques to avoid this issue, but couldn't find any particularly helpful tips.

  1. Nice work again Kelly... Remember it is always about light and design first then content.. the steel and rusty bolt in the afternoon light is a great example of that.. Getting in close is a great way to strengthen design skills...

    You continue to impress me.
