By the Sea- Fort Hale, New Haven

Hi everyone!  So today I went to the beach by myself and got completely carried away, shooting practically everything I saw.  I used both of my lens's, the kit lens and my telephoto.  All of the pictures were edited using either View NX 2 or the Color Sync Utility.

I shot most of the shells and small rocks up close to capture the small details that make up the beautiful big picture that is the beach. I got there around 2pm and the light was absolutely perfect.  The shots of the spray took a long time to achieve; at times it almost felt like I was shooting blindly.
So here is the final product...

In the photo above, I chose to use the selective color setting.  I'm still getting used to choosing which color I want to focus on, so for now I leave it on the default.

While the photo above is a bit blown out, I chose to include it anyway.  To me, it looks less like oceanic spray and more like a picture of rocks with white paint splashed across it.   I took this picture- yelled "YES", turned off my camera, and left.  It may not be perfect, but it's my favorite shot of the day.

I really really really like your pictures including the last one. I see what you see in the picture. I think you did an incredible job filling the frame and capturing the light, colors and angles in each of them. You did a really good job. I enjoyed your pictures very much Kelly.
